It is, at times, difficult to read. Why Read The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoevsky? Who, after reading this book, can forget Fyodor Karamazov, the wicked and sensual father? When the acting's good, it's very good, but when it's bad, it's laughable and director Brooks' attempts at injecting Slavic intensity misfire badly sometimes. I will say that there are sections of this book where the theological questions are so profound and well-treated that the reader feels he must read them several times to fully feel their force.
